HERO (Tugas Softskill)

SONG’S LYRICS

“Hero”
(by Mariah Carey)

There’s a hero

If you look inside your heart

You don’t have to be afraid

Of what you are

There’s an answer

If you reach into you soul

And the sorrow that you know

Will melt away

[Chorus:]

And then a hero comes along

With the strength to carry on

And you cast your fear aside

And you know you can survive

So when you feel like hope is gone

Look inside you and be strong

And you’ll finally see the truth

That a hero lies in you

It’s a long road

When you face the world alone

No one reaches out a hand

For you to hold

You can find love

If you search within yourself

And the emptiness you felt

Will disappear

[Chorus:]

Lord knows

Dreams are hard to follow

But don’t let anyone

Tear them away

Hold on

There will be tomorrow

In time

You’ll fine the way

MEANING OF THE SONG

Hero by Mariah Carey, has a leading point which is that you are your own hero and be happy whit who you are. Some examples from the lyrics are, “and cast your fear aside, and you know you can survive”, which means don’t be scared you can get through hard times. Another lyric is, “dreams are hard to follow but don’t let anyone tear them away”, meaning that don’t stop following your dreams and don’t let anyone get in the way of your dreams. The last lyrics that was chosen is, “a hero lies in you”. It means there is a hero in everyone. You just have to search inside you, to find that hero. Also a hero can be expressed and shown in many ways.

The lyrics mean that everyone is a hero. Like sometimes when you have to do things on your own and no one is there, you are your own hero and help yourself through your problems by guiding yourself to where you think you will succeed.
